Welcome to Rainshadow
Viringos! Viringos (my preferred name for this beloved and rare breed of dog) are also know as Perro Sin Pelo del Peru (PSPP), Peruvian Inca Orchid (PIO) and Peruvian Hairless (PH).
Llamas! Llamas are one of the South American relatives of the camel. Llamas thick coats of wool and honed survival instincts enable them to thrive in one of the most extreme climates on earth.
Alpacas! Alpacas are also know as camelids and lamas. Alpacas were domesticated by the Incas more than 6,000 years ago and raised for their exquisite fleece. Due to its quality and all of its gorgeous characteristics, alpaca fiber was reserved exclusively for the elite and nobility.
Rainshadow is home to Viringos, llamas, alpacas, and the Verissimo Family. Located in Acampo, California, we live among the dairies and the vineyards. Have you ever wondered why llamas grace so many pastures? Are you interested in learning more about The Alpaca Lifestyle? Do you want to learn about the elusive Viringo? Here at Rainshadow we love sharing our knowledge. We occasionally will have a few of these critters available. We welcome visitors by appointment.
